- Shut down your computer.
- Follow the cable to the "router/switch" (or wi-fi) and shut down that device.
- Shut down all other equipment that is provided by your internet provider.
- Make note of which piece of equipment has the cable connected to the line that enters your house (cable coming from the wall).
- Wait 2 full minutes - by the clock.
- Power the unit that has the cable connected to the line that enters your house.
- Wait one full minute - by the clock.
- Power the next piece of equipment.
Repeat steps 7 & 8 until all equipment is powered back up.
