Reset Local Internet

Best practice on resetting your local internet includes the following steps:

  1. Shut down your computer. 
  2. Follow the cable to the "router/switch" (or wi-fi) and shut down that device.
  3. Shut down all other equipment that is provided by your internet provider.
  4. Make note of which piece of equipment has the cable connected to the line that enters your house (cable coming from the wall).
  5. Wait 2 full minutes - by the clock. 
  6. Power the unit that has the cable connected to the line that enters your house. 
  7. Wait one full minute - by the clock. 
  8. Power the next piece of equipment. 
Repeat steps 7 & 8 until all equipment is powered back up.
