Steps to setup Microsoft Two-Factor Security

It is required to enter two methods of authentication but you can add up to six. 
These following instructions will set up the Microsoft Authenticator App method and cell phone number method. 

Microsoft Authenticator Method

1. Via your internet browser, access office.com 
2. If prompted, enter your email address (if you have logged in previously, you may still be logged in. If you are logged in, please go to step 7)
3. Select Next

4. Enter your password
5. Select Sign in

6. If prompted, select Yes
 

7. Click on your image / initials in the right corner
8. Select on View account


9. Select on update info


10. Click on Add method


11. Select Authenticator app


12. Select Add

13. On your smart device (phone or tablet, not the browser on your computer), access your iPhone App or Google Play store. 
14. Search and locate the Microsoft Authentication App
15. Download the app


16. Open the Microsoft Authentication App 
17. Via the app, select Scan QR Code


18. If prompted, allow the app to have access to your camera


19.  If prompted, select all notifications


20. If prompted, select OK to gather non-personally identifiable usage data


21. If prompted, select Approve


22. Return to your computer, return to the My Sign-Ins tab on your internet browser


23. Select on Next

24. Select  Next


30. Hit Next on your computer


Cell Phone Number Method

1. Return to your computer. While still on the Security info page, select add method

2. Click Phone
3. Click Add

4. Enter your cell phone number
5. Select Text me a code
6. Select Next

7. Return to your smart device. You will receive a text message. 
8. Return to your computer. Enter the code provided from the text message
9. Select Next



10. Select Done
